State and Territory Review
Once the nomination period closes, Australian Mother of the Year Award groups all submissions by state and territory. A local professional review panel in each region evaluates every application against a consistent set of criteria, ensuring the award reflects the full breadth of Australian community life.
Nominators may be contacted during this phase if the panel requires additional information about a submission.
Finalists and State Winners
Each regional panel selects three standout finalists from their state or territory, then names a single State Winner. Australian Mother of the Year Award state winners are announced ahead of the national round. Each state winner represents the very best story from their community.
National Judging
State winners progress to the national round, where a grand panel of child welfare advocates and celebrity ambassadors reviews every finalist. Australian Mother of the Year Award's national panel selects the single National Mother of the Year from among the state winners. The 2026 winner will be announced once this final stage is complete.
