Write Your Nomination

Compose a detailed story about the mother, foster carer, or grandmother you are nominating. Australian Mother of the Year Award panels look for accounts of genuine resilience, real sacrifices, and a measurable positive impact on family or community. Be specific: real events and real outcomes carry far more weight than general praise.

Email your story to contact@motheroftheyear.com.au with the subject line "2026 Nomination Submission". Include the nominee's full name, state or territory, and category (Mother, Foster Carer, or Grandmother).

State and Territory Review

Once the nomination period closes, Australian Mother of the Year Award groups all submissions by state and territory. A local professional review panel in each region evaluates every application against a consistent set of criteria, ensuring the award reflects the full breadth of Australian community life.

Nominators may be contacted during this phase if the panel requires additional information about a submission.

Can I nominate someone outside my own state?

Yes. Australian Mother of the Year Award accepts nominations for women in any Australian state or territory regardless of where the nominator lives. The nominee's story will be assessed by the review panel in the nominee's own state or territory. Simply include the nominee's state or territory clearly in your submission.

What is the postal address for Australian Mother of the Year Award?

Australian Mother of the Year Award is located at 60-64 Bay Street Ultimo, Sydney NSW 2007. All formal correspondence and nomination submissions should be directed to contact@motheroftheyear.com.au. However, the nominator's identity is kept confidential and is not shared with the nominee or the public. If you have concerns about anonymity, please include a note in your email and the team will advise on how to proceed.
